BOISE, Idaho –
The Horseshoe Collective and Western Collective will join forces to produce The Horseshoe Golden Ale, believed to be one of the first – if not the first – beer partnership in the country that supports a collective, the organizations announced Wednesday.
Proceeds from the sale of The Horseshoe Golden Ale will be donated to The Horseshoe Collective, a third-party philanthropic giving option launched this past September. The Horseshoe Collective endeavors to raise awareness for local charitable causes by pairing them with community-minded Boise State student-athletes seeking to use their Name, Image, and Likeness to make a positive impact in our community.
“We pride ourselves on being leaders within our community, and we value partnering with local organizations to make a meaningful difference,” Cary Prewitt, owner of Western Collective said. “What The Horseshoe Collective is building, in support of both Boise State student-athletes and the Treasure Valley community, is something that we definitely wanted to be part of.
“This beer is going to be amazing, and when you buy it, you’ll know you’re making a difference by simply enjoying something delicious.”
The Horseshoe Golden Ale will be Western Collective’s 13th beer where proceeds from sales are donated to charitable causes.
The initial brewing process for The Horseshoe Golden Ale is scheduled to begin on March 29. Details on an official launch party, scheduled for April 28, will be announced at a later date.
“This is yet another example of how local businesses can creatively partner with The Horseshoe Collective and make an impact on our community,” The Horseshoe Collective Executive Director Joe Nickell said. “This partnership will enhance our ability to get more student-athletes involved in our mission, and I am appreciative of the support of Western Collective, specifically Cary and his wife, Melissa.
“I am hopeful that fans will have the opportunity to enjoy this creation no matter where they’re watching games from this upcoming season.”
Western Collective initially opened its doors in Boise in 2018 and is home to the best beer, vibes, and experience in Boise. The brewery is known for its award-winning craft beer, boozy adult slushes, and incredible atmosphere, and its taproom is frequently home to some of the most unique events in Boise – including a reptile petting zoo, inflatable jousting ring, archery, flower farm, and more.
