BOISE, Idaho –

Boise State Athletics already boasts the nation’s top institutional Name, Image, and Likeness program, and now, support for the Broncos’ football team will also be bolstered by a third-party philanthropic giving option following the launch of The Horseshoe Collective, the collective’s board of directors announced Tuesday.

A nonprofit organization, The Horseshoe Collective endeavors to raise awareness for local charitable causes by pairing them with community-minded Boise State football student-athletes seeking to use their Name, Image, and Likeness to make a positive impact in our community. Contributions to The Horseshoe Collective are considered charitable donations due to the organization’s 501 (c)(3) status.

The Horseshoe Collective’s board of directors includes Clint Bolinder, Torry McAlvain, Kevin McDonald, and Mark Miller.

“I am incredibly appreciative of the efforts of The Horseshoe Collective’s board of directors for seeking to positively impact our community and our football program,” Boise State Director of Athletics Jeramiah Dickey said. “This group will be a fantastic complement to the groundbreaking work our team is doing in the NIL space on a daily basis and provide yet another robust avenue to support Bronco student-athletes.”

Former Boise State Associate Director of Athletics Joe Nickell, one of the architects of the Broncos’ nationally-recognized NIL program, will serve as executive director of The Horseshoe Collective, running the organization’s day-to-day operations.

“Joe’s involvement in the operational aspects of The Horseshoe Collective provides me immense comfort, as he was instrumental in getting our NIL programming off the ground,” Dickey said. “He knows the rules, and he cares deeply about Bronco Athletics, our football program, and our student-athletes.”

“In this new era of collegiate athletics, you’re either moving forward or getting left behind,” head coach Andy Avalos said. “I am thrilled to see people that care about this program taking steps to keep Bronco Football headed in the right direction, and look forward to Bronco Nation supporting The Horseshoe Collective and impacting our future success.”

For questions about The Horseshoe Collective, or to get involved, Joe Nickell can be reached via email at joe@thehorseshoecollective.com.

“The board has put a lot of time and energy in creating a strong foundation for this organization to positively impact the student-athlete experience and our community while remaining compliant with NCAA regulations,” Nickell said. “We are thrilled to have the trust and support of Boise State and will continue to communicate with their leadership regularly on the ever-changing landscape and legislation at the NCAA, state, and federal levels.”
