Boise, Idaho –

In support of 208 Day, a “Day of Community” launched in 2023 by the Boise Hawks, The Horseshoe Collective will be sending Boise State football student-athletes and supporters of the collective out for multiple projects along stretches of the Boise Greenbelt on Feb. 8, the collective announced Thursday.

Supporters of The Horseshoe Collective will receive an email with instructions for signing up. Those who register will receive additional communication with complete details regarding the opportunity to volunteer alongside Boise State football student-athletes.

“This day of giving back to our community on Feb. 8 was the brainchild of the Boise Hawks and general manager Mike Van Hise,” The Horseshoe Collective Executive Director Joe Nickell said. “In year one, Mike picked up trash along the Greenbelt to help show the Treasure Valley community that when we all do something small it can make a large impact.

“The Horseshoe Collective would like to help Mike and the Boise Hawks grow 208 Day into something even bigger for our community, so in honor of his inaugural good deed, we would like to get as many of our student-athletes and supporters out to the Greenbelt to continue what he started.”

Additionally, The Horseshoe Collective will be donating a lunch with a Bronco football student-athlete as one of the 208 raffle prizes available to participants of 208 Day.

On Nov. 30, The Horseshoe Collective announced the launch of an annual membership model for Bronco football fans and local businesses. Among other things, in what is believed to be a first-of-its-kind model, supporters of The Horseshoe Collective will be presented with opportunities to volunteer for local charitable causes alongside Bronco football student-athletes.

Donations can be made directly though The Horseshoe Collective’s Online Giving Portal, and can be set up for either monthly or one-time payments.
